Stranded (2013)
Stranded launched to coincide with the 70th Battle of Atlantic commemorations, which took place in Liverpool (between 24-27 May 2013) & LOOK/13, Liverpool’s 2nd International Photography Festival (17 May-15 June).
The photographic artworks explored the poignant stories & lives of retired Merchant and Royal Navy seamen and WRENS who served in the Battle of the Atlantic operations during the Second World War. The artworks where sited at Williamson Square (Liverpool) & The Mersey Planet Light Vessel (Canning Dock East, Liverpool).
‘I just wanted to say how pleased we have been with the installation of the artwork for the Battle of the Atlantic project on the hoardings in Williamson Square. In urban design, we are constantly working to drive up the quality of design in the city which includes incorporating high quality public art within major development schemes where appropriate. Your installation helps us to champion good design and provides an example of the high standards we expect from developers in the city’.
