The project explored their achievements and aspirations and sought to see if these were linked to place of birth. Over several months, I worked with the residents on aspects of photography and digital imaging such as portraiture, visual literacy, photomontage and editing.
This resulted in a photo zine being produced on the issue of social mobility, which was displayed as part of LOOK/11, Liverpool’s first International Photography Festival in 2011.
The photo zine is an unique presentation of the participants’ lives, in particular elderly people living in the Kensington area of Liverpool.
